Need help choosing the right news website CMS India platform?
Decide what should be shared
List the things every publication needs: identity, domains, authors, sections, ad inventory, analytics, and publishing permissions. Some capabilities can share infrastructure, while editorial policy, navigation, and audience expectations need to remain distinct. Document these boundaries before configuring the system.
Map each title to its content ownership, language, URL rules, and approval chain. Shared infrastructure should reduce repeated administration without exposing one newsroom’s content or settings to another by accident.
Build governance into the structure
Define central administrators, publication managers, editors, contributors, and support roles. Grant access by publication and task, then review it when staff change roles. A multi-publication CMS should make shared responsibilities and local accountability clear.
Plan how shared content is reused. Syndicated items need an owner, attribution rules, canonical decisions, and a way to update or withdraw a story across editions. Copying articles without a policy can create duplicate pages and correction gaps.
Keep each site independently discoverable
Give every publication its own metadata defaults, sitemap, robots rules, analytics configuration, structured publisher identity, and Search Console property. Confirm host-specific canonical URLs and internal links in staging before launch.
Test common journeys on every site: browse a section, open an article, search the archive, switch edition, and reach contact or subscription pages. Load-test shared services so one title’s traffic peak does not degrade another’s experience.
