Need help choosing the right news website CMS India platform?
Bring realistic newsroom scenarios
Ask the team to create an assignment, draft a story, attach a credited image, request an edit, schedule publication, and correct a live article. Include a breaking-news change and a story that needs translation.
Observe how many steps are clear without explanation. Check whether the interface shows ownership, status, version history, metadata, and the next action. Note manual workarounds and questions that the demo cannot answer.
Test technical and operational fit
Ask how URLs, redirects, sitemaps, canonical tags, schema, backups, security updates, analytics, integrations, and traffic spikes are handled. Request specifics about data export, migration support, service levels, and who owns each responsibility.
Include editors, reporters, product staff, and technical reviewers in the evaluation. Each group will surface different constraints, and the platform should support the publisher’s actual permissions and governance.
Score evidence, not promises
Create a scorecard for critical workflows, accessibility, performance, support, implementation effort, total cost, and roadmap fit. Record whether each answer was demonstrated, documented, or only described.
Ask for a written rollout plan, assumptions, exclusions, and referenceable outcomes where available. Then compare systems using the same scenarios and priorities instead of choosing from a feature checklist alone.
