Need help choosing the right news website CMS India platform?

Name decision makers and workstream owners

Assign a project lead and owners for editorial workflows, design, content, infrastructure, migration, integrations, analytics, and training. Make clear who approves URL changes, content models, role permissions, and launch readiness.

Include a reporter, editor, publisher, and administrator in the process. A CMS implementation is not complete if only the technical team has validated it.

Configure the publishing model before importing everything

Define content types, sections, taxonomy, user roles, language editions, templates, approval stages, and required metadata. Test a small representative batch of content and workflows before scheduling the full archive migration.

Document integration owners and system-of-record decisions. Resolve ambiguous fields and duplicate labels before they become permanent in the new CMS.

Set acceptance criteria and train the newsroom

Agree on the tasks that must pass before launch: submit a story, review it, schedule publication, correct it, search the archive, view it on mobile, and export required records. Record blockers, owners, and how each issue will be resolved.

Train staff by role using realistic examples and short reference guides. Provide a route for questions during the first publishing shifts and keep a fallback process available.

Launch, monitor, and stabilize

Choose a launch window with appropriate technical and editorial coverage. Verify canonical URLs, redirects, sitemaps, metadata, analytics, forms, backups, and support access after production changes.

Monitor public pages, publishing activity, reader feedback, and unresolved launch issues. Review the rollout with the team and adjust the workflow before adding optional modules or customizations.
